ABSTRACT
Katerina Ero Ladjepen. A study on the implementation of English instruction based on the lesson plans used by an English teacher of the eighth grade at SMPN 11 Samarinda in 2014/2015 academic year.

This study is focused on the implementation of Lesson Plans used by an English teacher of the eighth grade. The purposes of this study are intended to find out the implementation of the lesson Plan by the teacher in implementing the main activity of the lesson plan of the eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 11 Samarinda and what teacher’s perception about lesson plan.
This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 11 Samarinda. The researcher used three step to collecting data: (1) Doing the observation by using the teacher observation form as a guide, (2) Giving the questionnaire to the teacher, and (3)Conducting the interview to the teacher. To analyze the data, the writer used a flow model analysis; which consist of three concurrent flows of activity in the model: data reduction, data display and data conclusion drawing/verification.
The result revealed that implementation of English instruction of English instruction based on the lesson plans used by an English teacher on the eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 11 Samarinda still in range 41% - 60%, which means the teacher seldom implements the lesson plan appropriately with the lesson plan already made and teacher’s perception about lesson plan based on questionnaire and interview it had played an important role in teaching process and help teacher to achieving the objectivities of the material that would be taught if it appropriate with class’ condition. Sometimes lesson plan which made by teacher was not appropriate with the class condition so in implementing the lesson plan it will face some deviation such as the limited time and lack of students’ enthusiasm.
