The Dayak Onion is a medicanal plant that grows widely in Kalimantan and has the potential to be used as a modern medicinal ingredient, so development is needed in its cultivation. This research aims to determine the interaction between chicken manure and potassium fertilizer and its effects to the growth and yield of Dayak Onions, and looking for the best dose that can provide the best result.
This research was conducted at Sekolaq Oday Village, Kutai Barat Regency from January until April 2024. The research used a Randomized Block Design (RBD), consisting of two factors and three times repetitions. The first factor is the dose of chicken manure fertilizer (P) which consists of 4 levels (p) namely 0, 100, 200 and 300 g per polybag. The second factor is the dose of KCl fertilizer (K) which consist of 4 levels (k) namely 0, 1, 2 and 3 g per plant, the observed parameters included plant height, number of leaves, leaf length, number of plant tubers, wet weight and dry weight of tubers. The data analysis uses Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with a level of 5%.
The results showed no real interaction between the doses of chicken manure and KCl in most parameters This is due to the slow reaction of chicken manure and KCl fertilizer which dissolves when it rains frequently and is carried into deeper soil layers, away flom plant. The provision of chicken manure significantly affected plant height and leaf length at the age of 1 and 5 weeks after planting, as well the number of leaves at the age of 9 weeks after planting, because at that age the plant was in the vegetative phase. The provision of KCl fertilizer significantly affected the number of leaves at the age of 5 weeks after planting and the length of leaves at the age of 9 weeks after planting. The dose of chicken manure 300 g per polybag showed the highest yield, namely the number of tubers was 55,75 tubers, wet weight 140,50 g per grove and dry weight 47,35 g per grove. Then, the dose of KCl agowed the result namely the number of tubers was 43,33 tubers, wet weight 134,50 g per grove and dry weight 43,40 per grove.
