This research was conducted to determine of capacity and characteristics of the breeder and inseminator, and then to assess the gain of artificial insemination AI program in East Kutai. Some factors was influenced the gain of artificial insemination such as, breeder, inseminator, livestock acceptor and quality straw.
The research was conducted with survey method using completely questionnaire. The respondend for interviews were Inseminator AI who has work in AI program in East Kutai.
The results of this research note that the characteristics of breeders in East Kutai is poor. The peforman inseminator in the district of East Kutai the standards peforman inseminator. The problems of AI officers in the field who can be identified, namely inseminator, ranchers, facilities and infrastructure AI and AI technical operations. The success rate of the AI program in the county of East Kutai can be seen from the S/C East Kutai 1.6 and CR 63%.
The based of the results this research implementation of the AI program at East Kutai running well condition with good views of the value of the S/C and CR obtained. Breeders in East Kutai has considerable experience both in farming but not enough good views of educational background and technical maintenance of livestock, so the acceptance of AI technology still not good. Based on the characteristics and working capacity inseminator officer in the East Kutai is good enough but still need to be improved, especially in the performance and recording system inseminator officer.
