This study focuses on analyzing the archetype in Megamind film. This study aims to investigate Megamind character archetype in the Megamind film by examining the plot and identify the archetype. The purpose of this study is to find out the archetype based on Jung critics that relates to the Megamind character. This study is categorized as literary criticism since most of the data were taken by analyzing literary work. The researcher also found that Megamind is a dynamic character that keeps constantly evolving through the story. Megamind also displayed external and internal characterization many times in the story. The method in this research is qualitative research and is archetypal theory and approach by Jung to discover the archetypes that can be found in Megamind character. The researcher collected the data from the film and analyzed it through an archetypal approach. There are at least sixteen data collected in the research and four major archetypes that are found in Megamind character, persona contain four data, shadow contain four data, anima contain two data, and self contain six data. All of the data that will be collected will be used by the researcher to answer the research question.
