This research aims to analyze the psyche of the Spring Green Man and Inquisitor Oberon the villains within the novel A Wizard’s Guide to a Defensive Baking by T. Kingfisher. This research would solely focus on analyzing the villainous characters of the novel. To achieve this the research uses psychoanalysis theory by Sigmund Freud that deals with the conscious and the unconscious. Specifically, the tripartite psyche theory, a psychoanalysis theory where a character’s psyche is divided into three part that complement each other, this method contains id that deals with things such as impulse, ego that deals with reality and the rules of it or common sense, and superego that deals with morality and judgement. The result of this research would show the psyche of these villains and would point out which of the tripartite that is dominant within these characters. The result of it would also be focused upon a point of the character that the researcher has found, from conducting this research it is revealed that both object for this research has two points that defines them. The Spring Green Man points are his goal of controlling the whole town and his murderous tendency, from these points it is revealed that The Spring Green Man is a character driven by his id. On the other hand Inquisitor Oberon points are his intent of framing the innocent and his cunning, manipulative and prideful attitude from that it is revealed that he is a character driven by his ego.
