Slumberland, a unique film that tells the story of the journey of Nemo, a little girl who faces many trials in the world of dreams in order to meet her father. The main objective of this research is to examine the stages of the hero’s journey that the main protagonist, Nemo, goes through in the Slumberland film. This research applies theory of the hero’s journey by Christopher Vogler to analyze data that comes from Nemo’s actions and dialogues during her journey which contribute to the characterization. The research methodology employed in this research is qualitative research and the researcher uses an archetypal approach. The analysis of data in this research involves data condensation, data display, and drawing conclusion. The analysis revealed that Nemo goes through all the twelve stages of the heroic journey by Christopher Vogler’s theory. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that Nemo, the main character, goes through the hero’s stages. Nemo's journey in Slumberland encapsulates the timeless hero’s journey, emphasizing the critical themes of perseverance and self-discovery, which not only enrich literature studies with archetypal narrative structures but also inspire filmgoers to find courage and hope in their own lives.
