PSYCHOPATH SYMPTOMS TOWARD CHEF SLOWIK IN THE MENU FILM
The focus of this research is to identify the psychopathic traits and psychopathic behavior of Chef Slowik using Stefan Verstappen's theory in the movie The Menu. This research uses descriptive qualitative method and the data is in the form of scenes, dialogs, and monologues. Based on the results of the study, the researcher found that Chef Slowik suffers from a number of psychopathic disorders, such as: 1) Lack of Empathy is evident when Slowik does not care about the feelings of his customers, 2) Lack of Remorse was evident when Slowik showed no guilt or remorse for his actions that harmed his customers, 3) Grandiosity is evident when Slowik shows feelings of selfishness and overconfidence in front of Jeremy and his customers, 4) Irresponsibility is evident when Slowik becomes a coward by avoiding his responsibilities and instead blaming Margot for the chaos that occurs in his restaurant, 5) Poor Behavior Control is evident when Slowik is unable to control his behavior or loses self-control, 6) Lacking Goal is because psychopaths tend not to have clear life goals or long-term plans, 7) Manipulative is evident when Slowik changes facts into something false, and 8) Anti-social Behavior is evident when Slowik shows behavior that violates the rights of his customers by punishing them, as shown in the film.
