This research analyzes the archetypes shown by the character Amma Crellin in the novel Sharp Objects. The aim of this research is to determine the archetypes of Amma Crellin in the novel Sharp Objects. The approach used in this research is a psychological approach using the archetype theory developed by Carl Gustav Jung, which states that there are four archetypes of the soul, namely persona, shadow, and anima/animus. The research results show that the Amma Crellin archetype is depicted through direct and indirect characterization. Amma Crellin displays her first persona as an obedient daughter who willingly fulfills her mother's expectations, but there is also a second persona as a troubled teenager which is depicted through physical attributes and especially the way Amma Crellin behaves in front of her friends. Then Shadow Amma is depicted as a murderer who is triggered by pent-up emotions and jealousy, which then develops into a forbidden desire to hurt others as a necessity. Lastly, Amma Crellin's Animus is seen from her physical strength and the influence of the animus in making decisions regarding actions that she considers to be a direct solution to the problem. As a result, Amma's shadow dominates Amma due to her inability to harmonize all the archetypes in her consciousness.
