This research focuses on analyzing the struggle manifested by the main character. The method of this research is a qualitative method with a novel entitled Handle With Care, written by Jodi Picoult as the object. It analyzes the paragraphs, narrations, quotations, and sentences from the novel that show the struggle of the main characters to be able to answer the question. The results of this research show how Charlotte struggled in four sectors: with Self, with Another Character, with Destiny (Fate), and with Society. Those are for self: gripping guilt over causing Willow's disability, a crisis of moral identity, and having to reconstruct her purpose beyond her child's burden. Another character: bitter gaps with Willow, her husband Sean, her doctor, and her friend over perceptions of her lawsuit, worsening her isolation. Destiny (Fate): the throbbing battle against Willow's genetic fate she cannot control, attempting and failing to reshape her daughter's predetermined suffering. Society: Outcast status due to the community's condemnation of her choices, facing disability stigma and lack of support structures.
