Racial discrimination is the study to explore human behaviors deeper that treat differently with the other human which they have significant appearances, race, religion, skin colors, and personalities that could implemented in the literary works such as novel entitled Heart of Darkness written by Joseph Conrad. This research intended to investigate the representation of discrimination issue and find out the forms of discrimination that has been done by Kurtz character depicted in the novel using Gordon Allport’s discrimination theory as the formal object. Kurtz character was come from white people who want to exploit ivory in Kongo island, Africa. Therefore, Kurtz action has led to devastation of black African people who already live in that island for a long time until he came to colonized and imperialism them with his unusual ambitious and cruel methods that exterminated as many as possible of the black African people without considering that his action would lead to the extinction of another human race. The results of this research are Kurtz character manipulated through hegemony of black African people that he was the savior and the man in the future could change their fate as the subordinate community live in full of natural resources. Kurtz also done unforgiveness actions to the black African community which are verbal antagonism, avoidance, segregation, physical attacks, and extermination. These actions driven by the blind ambitious to exploit and claim the ivory as one of his purposes also to become the ruler of the island by himself in further. For marginalized people such as black African, they would suffer and eliminated immediately because they were treated as rebels and criminals if they did not follow Kurtz’s commands. At the end, Kurtz did not succeed to took control the island because he died in horror condition due the sickness and starving situation he encountered.
