This research aims to identify women’s language features based on Lakoff’s theory and the functions of women’s language features used in Allison Anderson's utterances based on Jakobson’s theory. This research analyzed Allison Anderson's vlog using a descriptive qualitative method. From ten features of women's language, the researcher found nine features used by Allison in her three vlogs. They were lexical hedges or fillers, rising intonations on declarative, empty adjectives, precise color terms, intensifiers, hypercorrect grammar, super polite forms, avoidance of strong swear words, and emphatic stress. In total, 148 data or utterances were found. The most frequent feature of women’s language used by Allison was the intensifiers, which she used to emphasize her utterances about her travel experiences and draw viewers' attention. Meanwhile, the tag questions were not found in this research likely because she used script when speaking in her vlogs, which resulted in fluent explanations. Then, the kinds of language functions used by Allison in the vlogs were phatic function, expressive function, directive function, and referential function. Meanwhile, metalinguistic and poetic functions were not found because she was more focused on sharing her travel experiences and engaging with her viewers through personal expression and factual information in her vlogs. The most frequent language function used by Allison was the expressive function which she used to express her thoughts, feelings, and emotions. This helped her connect with her viewers and make her vlogs more interesting.
