The research entitled “Female Oppression Toward Female Characters in Carrie Film” presents research problems about oppression from female to female. The researcher only discussed one female character, Carrie who gained the oppression from Margaret (as Carrie’s mother) and Chris (as classmates) as other female characters. The Objective of the study in this research is to show the forms of oppression which occur toward female characters in Carrie films. The theory that is used in this research is the five faces of oppression by Irish Marion Young, because the theory is related to the form of oppression which usually occurs in society. The five faces of oppression are exploitation, marginalization, powerlessness, cultural imperialism, and violence. The researcher used a qualitative method as the method of the research. The data are collected from the dialogue and conversation, the picture or screenshot taken from the film, and the film script to support this research. The result of this study shows that Carrie got three faces of oppression, those three oppression are marginalization, powerlessness, and violence. Based on those analysis, the researcher concludes that the oppression toward women can be done by anyone, including women too. Therefore, oppression of women is always related to men being stronger than women, but oppression can occur because of the power of the perpetrator of oppression which can be possessed by anyone (male or female).
