Test of Yield of Four Cultivars Upland Rice (Oryza sativa L.) Native of East
Kalimantan by The Treatment of Planting Space (Supervised by Syakhril and
Rusdiansyah)
The purposes of this expriment were to (i). Learn about the effect of planting
space on growth and yield; (ii). get the right planting space; (iii). Get the high
harvest-potential upland rice. This expriment had been done from May to
November 2006 at Karang Tunggal village Tenggarong Seberang district, of Kutai
Kartanegara regency.
This experiment was factorial experiment which arranged based on the
Randomized Completely Block Design with three replication. The first factor was
rice cultivars that are Gedagai, Bogor Putih, Serai and Kunyit. The second factor
is planting space that is 20 x 20 cm, 25 x 25 cm, and 30 x 30 cm.
Results the showed that the space plant has significant influence to the
height of plant at 45 days after planting, the total number of tiller per hill, total
number of productivity tiller per hill, the total number of grain per panicle and
1000 dry weight grains. Cultivars treatment is significant different to the plant
height in 45 days after planting, total number of tiller per hill, number of
productivity tiller per hill and total number of grain per panicle. planting space 25
x 25 cm gives the best result at weight grain and harves potential. Cultivars
Gedagai, Bogor Putih, and Kunyit gaves the most that is > 1,5 Mg.ha
. All
observed characters were influenced by Environment factors.
