Id, Ego, Superego through Miles in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse
This research analyzes id, ego and superego concepts by Sigmund Freud in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse Film. The objective of this study is to describe how id, ego and superego portrayed through the main character name Miles in the film that forms the theories shown through his practices in responding to the responsibility that comes suddenly to him whereas he has to become hero (Spiderman) and save the city. This research uses qualitative research design. The data are narrations, dialogues, and scenes that are related to id, ego, and superego. The data are analyzed by using Freud’s theory and then the process of data analysis is using Gill’s theory. In the results of this study, researchers found the forms of id, ego and superego that Miles used for the sake of promise, which was depicted through his behavior when he explains about the importance of saving his city and keeping his promise to the previous Spiderman.
