University, 2007. Identying land availability at nontimber forest-plantation area by
using GIS approach in Paser Regency East Kalimantan Province ( supervised by

The Purpose of this research wre to know the availability of land at nontimber
forest-plantation area to be used as wetland agriculture, dryland agriculture and plant
estate areas.
The research was done from November, 2006 to February, 2007 in
Laboratory of Cartography And GIS, Agriculture Faculty of Mulawarman University.
The availability of land was analyzed by overlying some thematic maps (industrial
forest estate, forest concession area, landuse, geology, right effort area, land system,
soil, rainfall, land slope maps), using Arcview 3.3
Result of research showed that there was 59,512 ha of availaible land for
plant estate area, 30,806 ha for wetland agriculture area and 3,594 ha for dryland
agriculture area
