This study aims to understand students’ perception on the use of Instructional Media by Teacher in Teaching English at SMP Negeri 2 Long Ikis in Academic Year 2023/2024. The design of this study was a descriptive-qualitative. The sample of this study was 8 students at third grade of SMP Negeri 2 Long Ikis. The data were collected using interview. Based on the research findings, the research question was to know the students’ perceptions on the use of instructional media by teacher in teaching english. According to the result, it could be concluded that teachers primarily use traditional tools like whiteboards, dictionaries, and textbooks for teaching English due to the absence of internet access and mobile phone bans. However, students expressed happiness when teachers integrated learning media into their classes, finding it helpful for understanding material and appreciating direct examples. Students believe such media enhance their skills and encourage active participation. Specifically, media usage, such as textbooks, aids in improving pronunciation and vocabulary, offering a dual benefit. Overall, students value the use of educational media for enhanced learning experiences, despite limited access to online resources.
