Language is a necessary tool for everyone beings to possess in order to communicate each other. Metaphor itself is characteristic of language. Metaphors in song can be used to explain emotions such as fall in love, angry, loss, struggle, power, etc. With the song lyrics it can making process communication with other people more clear. The aim of this study is to find out the types of metaphor and the types of meaning in Maher Zain’s song lyrics. This study used qualitative methodologies to evaluate data in order to get information on the definitions, types, and usage of metaphorical lyrics. The data were taken from selected song that is most popular song of Maher Zain and written in English by MyTuner in May, 2024. There are five songs selected for this study. The result shows in Maher Zain’s song lyrics found all the types of metaphors are 7 orientational metaphor, 9 ontological metaphor, and 10 structural metaphor were discovered from five chosen songs. Structural metaphor is dominant in the lyrics. For the types of meaning in Maher Zain’s song lyrics the researcher found the affective meaning is more dominant in that song lyrics. In conclusion the examination of the lyrics of Maher Zain's songs, it has been discovered that metaphors play a significant part in the communication of profoundly emotional, and spiritual.
