This research explores the character development of Klaus Hargreeves in the first season of The Umbrella Academy series through the lenses of the Byronic Hero archetype and the Hero's Journey concept. Drawing on qualitative research methods and Carl Jung's archetypal approach, the study delves into Klaus's portrayal as a complex character who defies traditional hero stereotypes. Through detailed analysis of dialogue, appearance, actions, and interactions, the researcher identifies Klaus as embodying the traits of a Byronic Hero, characterized by his dark past, emotional complexity, self-destructive tendencies, rebellious nature, and unique charm. Furthermore, Klaus's journey aligns with the stages of the Hero's Journey concept, as outlined by Evie Lotze, from The Call, Wandering, got the Help from Unlikely Places, to achieve the Triumph. The findings highlight Klaus's transformation from a troubled and addicted individual, to a redeemed and empowered hero, showcasing both his external triumphs and internal growth.
