Racial Discrimination on Enitan's Character in Farming Film
Racial discrimination is one aspect of social reality that often occurs in society. This reality has been ilustrated in literary work entitled Farming, created by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje. This study aims to know how racial discrimination are represented in the main character Enitan, a Nigerian child who is entrusted to a white working-class family in England. The data are collected through dialog and scenes related to racial discrimination shown by the main character. This research is a descriptive qualitative approach that uses Rebecca
Blank's theory of meausring racial discrimination. The results of this study show that Enitan gets two types of racial discrimination, including intentional explicit discrimination and organizational process. There is no data that shows subtle prejudice and statistical profiling. Enitan experienced racial discrimination in order to fight for his life, which was full of injustice because of racial differences in the social surrounding.
