The hero’s journey is the journey that has to be passed by hero with various obstacles in his adventure to complete his mission. The object of this research is a film entitled John Wick (2017) film by Chad Stahelski. This research was aims to describe the stages of the hero's journey represented in John Wick (2017) film, experienced by the main character as the hero, was analyzed through hero’s journey theory from Joseph Campbell. This research was a qualitative method as the research design and used an archetype approach. The data were generated from the dialog and scene images captured related to John Wick’s journey to be a hero. The result of this research showed that John Wick went through the eight stages outlined in Joseph Campbell's hero's journey theory, including call to adventure, refusal of call, supernatural aid, the crossing the first threshold, the road of trials, ultimate boon, rescue from without, and freedom to live. The researcher also revealed the stages of John Wick's hero's journey which are represented through characterization found through his actions, namely characterization through dialogue, characterization through external action, characterization through internal action and characterization through choice of name. The conclusion drawn from this analysis is that while John Wick did not go through all of the hero’s journey stages, he can still be considered a hero because he was able to overcome a series of obstacles to achieve his goal to retirement from his profession as hitman. By analyzing the hero’s journey, someone can know how the character can achieve its goals through the phase of the hero’s journey..
