Nowadays environmental damage often becomes a problem, so there needs to be awareness for people to care about the natural environment. Therefore, the importance of studying this research is to inspire readers to become environmental activists as a first step in preventing environmental damage. This research analyzed the type of ecological crisis and the main characters as an environmental activist from two films, namely Dr. Emma from the film Godzilla II: King of the Monsters (2019) by Michael Dougherty and Thanos from the film Avengers: Infinity War (2018) by Anthony and Joe Russo. The purpose of this research was to compare by looking for similarities and differences regarding the type of ecological crisis as the main issue in the film and the main characters Dr. Emma and Thanos are represented as environmental activists through the Ecocriticism theory and Environmental Activists theory by Greg Garrard. This research used qualitative methods and a comparative literature approach. The results of this research showed that the similarity lies in the main type of ecological crisis, namely overpopulation based on the concept of apocalypse. In environmental activist theory, the similarity lies in the extreme actions taken by both characters to restore balance of nature based on the concept of deep ecology. In addition, both characters showed concern for nature and human life based on anthropocentric environmentalist concepts. Based on the phenomenon of ecological crisis, the difference lies in the type of ecological crisis in the form of pollution and animals which was not found in the film Avengers: Infinity War. The next difference lies in the tools used by the two characters to restore balance of nature based on the concept of deep ecology.
