Racism against Leyna as Main Character in Where Hands Touch Film (2018)
Racism is a social problem that often occurs in society. This research focuseson Leyna as the main character in the Where Hands Touch film. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of racism and the impact of racism on Leyna's character in Where Hands Touch. The researcher used qualitative methods and the theory of racism, Mikos data analysis in this study. To identify the level of racism and the impact of racism, the researcher used Jones' theory and Paul C. Rosenblatt's theory about the impact of racism. There are three levels of racism that occurred against Leyna: institutionalized racism, personally mediated racism, and internalized racism.There are impacts that occur namely grief, rage, and humiliation. In this film, there is no resistance by Leyna as a black character who experiences acts of racism because Leyna does not have the strength and supportfrom those closest to her.
