English Teachers' Perception Towards Google Classroom as a Learning Platform at Junior High School 2 Samarinda
This study was conducted to find out the perception of English teachers from Junior High School 2 Samarinda about the usage of Google Classroom as a learning platform. The researcher explored the perception on how the platform function on helping them in classwork. This study used a qualitative case study method design. This study involved 2 English teachers from Junior High School 2 Samarinda. The qualitative data were taken from the interview. This study found that teachers felt that Google Classroom were useful for monitoring and supervising their students from afar which led to the success of pre-active, interactive, and post-active teaching phase. This study also found that while in theory this platform could increase the interactivity between students and teachers or among the students themselves, the reality was that both the teachers and the students rarely used this platform for communicating or discussing among themselves and prefer to used another social media such as WhatsApp.
