This research entitled Code Switching Analysis in Mencuri Raden Saleh Film (2022). The research focused on analyzing the function of code switching through several types of code switching found in the utterances of the main characters in Mencuri Raden Saleh's film (2022) by using Muysken and Apple's theory. The research design was descriptive qualitative. The data in this research were the words, phrases, or utterances by the main characters in this film which contained code switching in two languages, Indonesian and English. The results revealed that there were the types of code switching used in this film for instance tag switches, intra-sentential switches and inter-sentential switches with the most types of code switching that found in this research is intra-sentential switches. The function of code switching found in this research based on the Muysken and Apple’s theory are referential function, expressive function, phatic function, and metalinguistic function. The conclusion of this research was intra-sentential switches and referential function more frequently used which meant that the main characters switched their language within the sentence because they could not found the right equivalent words in a short time so they chose words/phrases in English that they understand each other.
