DEVELOPING ENGLISH MODULE FOR ACCOUNTING STUDENTS USING TASK-BASED LEARNING AT SMK KATOLIK 2 SAMARINDA
The importance of teaching materials in learning is critical. Teaching materials are instruments and media that enable students to receive learning experiences and serve a significant part in the delivery of education in educational institutions. This study aimed: (1) to describe the developing process of the English module as a medium for accounting students; (2) to find out the feasibility of the English module as a learning media. The data is processed and analyzed using the Research and Development (R&D) type of research by Borg and Gall (1983). The development of the English module for accounting students’ uses of 4D learning tools which consists of 4 stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The validators of this study were three students of tenth grade at SMK Katolik 2 Samarinda, an English teacher from SMK Katolik 2 Samarinda and a lecturer from Mulawarman University. Questionnaire was used as instruments in this study. The result showed that English module feasible as an of the product. The results of this study are an English Module for grade tenth containing 14 materials and has been obtained whether based on the validation score, the percentage given by the English teacher and the lecturer gets an average score of 74% in the appropriate category from the maximum score. As for students obtained a percentage of 73% with an appropriate category. Based on the findings of this study, the percentage of English module is 73% included in the appropriate category. The English module learning materials are suitable for use or feasible as a supporting book for learning English in SMK Katolik 2 Samarinda
