This research analyzed a literary work entitled A Little Princess novel, written by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The purpose of this research was to find out the psychology representation of the main character using psychoanalysis theory. The data were generated from Sara’s Crewe interactions involving other characters. The data in this research were sentences, paragraph, quotations, and dialogue related to Sara’s character as the main character and was obtained after read the novel for several times. The researcher was described the main character using Richard Gill theory that is character’s speech, character’s action, character’s thought, character’s dress, and character’s name. This research using the qualitative design and a psychological approach. The result showed that in the novel, Sara’s character and characterization was found using psychoanalysis theory by Sigmund Freud in aspects id, ego, and superego were related to each other. The id being associated with pleasure but to achieve the pleasure sometimes through unrealistic process, the ego with reality that used a realistic mind, and the superego with moral values as the way human thinking which is good or bad decision. The researcher found the id of the main character is that her pleasure wanted unreasonable things. One of the data was explained that Sara’s character with her pleasure wanted to be accompanied by her father during her school time. Sara was act as a spoiled child. The ego of the main character showed the reality that her father was not able to stay at school for a long time. The superego was about moral value. Her father action could build an independent person of Sara’s character. Captain Crewe switch his position by sent many books, which makes Sara has her own activities by reading many books. Then, the researcher concluded that id, ego, and superego was balanced. One of the data can explained three aspects of psychoanalysis theory. Therefore, this research explained that to achieved a desire (id), there would be always take actions which acceptable in the real world (ego) and (superego) as the aspect to determines the moral value before making a decision.
