IDENTIFIKASI KARAKTER AGRO-MORFOLOGI 12 KULTIVAR PADI GOGO LOKAL ASAL KUTAI BARAT, KALIMANTAN TIMUR

DIMAS SYACHPUTRA. Identification of Agro-morphological Characters of 12 Local Upland Rice Cultivars from West Kutai, Kalimantan Timur. Faculty of Agriculture, Mulawarman University, 2023. (under the guidance of Rusdiansyah and Sadaruddin). Identification is the initial stage to obtain superior characteristics of local rice cultivars, followed by cluster analysis to group cultivars based on the diversity of characteristics. This study aims to determine the diversity of 12 local upland rice cultivars, environmental and genetic influences on plant characteristics through heritability values and correlations between yield components and agromorphological characters. This research was conducted at the OECF Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Mulawarman University from October 2022 to July 2023. The experiment was arranged in a Randomized Complete Block Design using 12 upland rice cultivars and 5 replications. Data were analysed using analysis of variance, followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5% level. Cluster analysis was conducted to determine the level of diversity among the 12 cultivars. Heritability in broad sense was calculated to determine the influence of environment and genetics on plant characteristics. Correlation coefficient was calculated to determine the correlation between yield components and agro-morphological characters. The results of the study divided 12 local upland rice cultivars from West Kutai into 7 groups at 45% similarity level with diversity consisting of leaf length, plant age, stem internode colour, lower stem internode diameter, total tillers, flag leaf angle, leaf surface, grain shape, panicle length, plant height, total productive tillers, leaf length, grain tip colour, grain length, total grain panicle-1 and panicle length. High heritability are found in all observation variables consisting of plant height, stem internode diameter, number of productive tillers, total number of tillers, leaf length, flag leaf length, grain length, grain width, total grain panicle-1, filled grain panicle-1, weight of 100 grains, weight of grain clump-1, plant age and panicle length. Characters that have a positive correlation with the weight of 100 grains are panicle length (r = 0,515) with a medium correlation and grain width (r = 0,662) with a high correlation, while the character that has a positive correlation with the weight of grain clump-1 is the number of productive tillers (r = 0,473) with a medium correlation. Keleng cultivar has the best 100-grain weight at 2,76 g, while Ketumaq cultivar has the best grain of weight clump-1 at 54,71 g. Group II and III can be used as elders in crosses based on the grouping of plant characters.
