The aim of this study to find out Motivational level of 7th-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Loa Kulu. Motivation is key factor that determine success of learning progress thus this study aim to find student motivational level category to determine whether they motivated or not The study adopts a Descriptive Quantitative Design, utilizing a questionnaire as the primary instrument to gather data. The researcher used and adopted Gardner Attitude Motivation test battery (1985). Then the result of questionnaire subsequently reduced and analyzed to display the results. Respondents in this research comprise 100 students from the 7th grade, selected using purposive sampling. The findings of the study reveal that students are categorized into three motivation group, very high motivated 19, High Motivated 65 and Low Motivated 16, no student are found fall into very low motivated. The researcher concludes that the students are highly motivated. In this study the researcher found that student motivation are affected by several factor, first is to feel smarter on very high motivation follow by determination to get better exam result for high motivated student then for student at low motivation are because their parent instructing them to learn English. For less factor that affecting student motivation came from to please family member for student at very high motivation, emphasis of parent of important English after graduate for high motivation and very low motivation is get better exam results. The researcher conclude that student are have high motivation and give suggestion for teacher to keep innovated and improve teaching method while not pressuring student and telling them benefit of learning English.
