This study aims to discuss the types and causes of racial discrimination that happened towards Cecil’s family that African-American in The Butler film. The data was a film by Lee Daniels. Thus, it used the theory of racial discrimination by Gordon Allport. In this literature, this study used qualitative research methods and a sociological approach. The results of this study indicated that several types of racial discrimination happened to African-American especially to main character family by the superior race (white people) are: verbal antagonism, segregation, and physical attack where each types have its own causes are: social factor, racial factor, and economic factor. In this study, the researcher found two data for verbal antagonism, five data for physical attack and one data for segregation. In conclusion, physical attack is a type of racial discrimination that most often occurs in the film The Butler
