The feminist movement exists to reach the equality between genders as a human being. Due to the fact that the patriarchal system in society places men as more dominant to women in every aspect of life, leading women to be more subordinated, getting unequal rights, and also encourage the traditional division of labor according to gender. The feminist criticism attempt to look at the literature through the feminist lens and one of the literary forms is in the form of short story. This research discusses about women’s role in patriarchal system as depicted toward the main character in Alice Eleanor Jones’ Created He Them short story. In this research, the researcher used the theory of patriarchy by Allan G. Johnson and women’s triple role by Tiffany K. Wayne, and by using qualitative research method and feminist criticism. The results of the research show that women experienced all four types of patriarchy. As for male dominance, men dominated both the public and domestic spheres by having the important position of authority and power, while in male identification, men and masculinity are considered as preferable and superior to women’s. Male centeredness shows that man’s position lean on being the center one, who has obsessions to control over, such as being the head of their household, and has the authority to take decisions. It encouraged the division of labor based on genders that is depicted through Ann Crothers, that women have more than one role. They were reproductive and productive role. Ann Crothers, as the wife and mother who did the domestic chores such as giving birth, taking care of children, cooking, and caring for family members, represented the reproductive role, while the productive role was expressed through Ann’s pregnancy that could bring the benefit to the family’s economic life.
