This research was made to reveal the fulfillment of Thomas’s needs as the main character in Maze Runner: The Death Cure film. This film tells about Thomas and his friends who survived from WCKD’s attack because Teresa has betrayed them by calling back WCKD. They kidnaped some of Thomas’ friends including Minho. Because of this, Thomas is motivated to set a plan in rescuing Minho. Thus, to reveal the needs represented by Thomas, the researcher used Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory. The psychological approach was applied in this thesis to describe the motivation of Thomas. To collect the data, the researcher used the observation and documentation method by Mason. The data that were collected from the film were in the form of dialogues, narration, transcript, and screenshots. There were three characterizations that are used, they are characterization through appearance, dialogue, and external action. Mise-en- scène theory was also used as a tool to make the film look more realistic. As a result, this research was the five levels of human needs: physiological needs, safety needs, love and belongingness needs, esteem needs and self-actualization are fulfilled and presented by Thomas. His goals to rescue Minho and be free from WCKD were also fulfilled. At the end of the journey they found a new home called Safe Haven.
