The Princess Switch (2018) is an American film about two women who have identical appearances, Stacy and Margaret, but different social backgrounds, change their places for two days. This research aims to discover the differences between positive and negative politeness strategies used by them. The researcher uses qualitative research methodology in reference to Mikos' movie analysis and sociolinguistics approach. The result showed that Stacy and Margaret used more positive politeness strategies than negative politeness strategies because both of them tend to satisfy and please people's positive faces in their new situations when they switch their places. However, Stacy and Margaret used the strategy differently in their utterances. Stacy used those strategies to avoid getting caught when she acted as Margaret. Stacy needed to be careful in her words and also avoid people's disagreement to hide her real identity. Meanwhile Margaret used those strategies to be an easy-going ordinary woman towards people she met when she acted as Stacy for two days.
