Nowadays, English students have tons of access and effortlessly achieve material through enjoyable and effective learning media, especially English-subtitled videos. This phenomenon builds a strong perception among the students that watching videos, movies, and series with English subtitles would assist them in acquiring more vocabulary. This study aims to know (1) the perception of English Department students of Mulawarman University of watching English subtitles on acquiring vocabulary, and (2) which batch has the highest perception toward watching English subtitles on acquiring vocabulary. This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach and uses a survey as data collection technique. 185 English Department students from batch 2020, 2021, and 2022 are qualified as participants of this study. The results of this study showed that most participants had a positive perception and batch 2022 was considered the batch with the highest perception.
