The research discussed how James as the main character in fulfilling his needs and showed how the response of James to his needs fulfillment. This research aimed to describe the way of James fulfilling his needs and revealed James` responds to his needs fulfillment in A Street Cat Named Bob film. The researcher analyzed James as the main character by using Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory with applied qualitative research method which were presented descriptively. The findings of the research contained the way by James in fulfilling his needs and
revealed when James was responding when his needs were fulfilled or had not been fulfilled enough. This research indicated that physiological needs were the most dominant finding, namely seven times, followed by esteem needs five times, love and belonging four times, safety needs four times, and self-actualization three times. The researcher concluded that there were results of James` way in fulfilling his needs in the cases of finding for food, safety from danger, family and love, respect, and writing a novel. In case of James responding to the need fulfillment seen in the terms of emotional responds such as glad, sad, and mad than in the terms of action itself was seen such as James followed the government programs and isolated himself to stop using drag.
