The issues of patriarchy in India have been circulated widely and rooted deeply in their society, affected by their cultural and religious background through acts of oppression towards women’s positions. The film Manjari Makijany’s Skater Girl has succeeded in portraying certain patriarchal practices with male domination operating society in India. To understand the patriarchy in the film, the researcher sees it through Radical Feminism perspectives as the primary approach of this research. This researcher uses a qualitative method to analyze and process the data through observations and descriptive analysis. This study aims (1) to identify the forms of patriarchal oppression experienced by the main characters in the Skater Girl film and (2) to describe the main character’s efforts against patriarchal oppression in the Skater Girl film. The results of this research discover that three main characters were experiencing patriarchal oppressions in household production, culture, male violence, and state, named Prerna, Prerna’s mother, and Jessica. However, in the form of female violence oppression, which is girl child abuse, the main character did not reveal any efforts against it. Besides that, Prerna’s character shows effort against patriarchy as she has a resourceful character to get an education, and Prerna’s mother has a responsible character in action against the prohibition of working in the industrial sector, which all are forms of oppression in household production. Further, Prerna has persistent and self-determined characters in efforts against the ban from playing skateboard and being forced into a marriage which are forms of patriarchal oppression in culture.
