This research focuses on analyzing the character of Diane who has characteristics of psychopath and the causes of a psychopath in Anessh Chaganty's Run film, which was released in 2020. Diane is a mother who poisoned her daughter with drugs that caused her daughter have various diseases. The past events in her life traumatized Diane and caused her to become a psychopath. Therefore, this study aims to determine the characteristics of psychopaths by using Robert D Hare's theory of psychopaths to examine the types of psychopathic characteristics in Diane. However, to find out the cause of Diane becoming a psychopath by using Huang's trauma theory. Furthermore, the researcher used qualitative research methods in this research. The data collected were from scenes, dialogues, and monologues that included to the characteristics of psychopaths and their causes experienced by Diane in the film. In Hare theory, the researcher found seven psychopathic characteristics depicted in Diane's character, namely glib and superficial, egocentric and grandiose, lack of remorse and guilt, lack of empathy, deceitful and manipulative, shallow emotion, and impulsiveness. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that Diane's character is a psychopath who is willing to harm others so that her child is always with her. By looking at the case, the theory
of psychopath is presented in order to know and understand the character's confusing behavior, as the term is an attempt to raise readers' awareness about someone personality.
