This study was conducted to find out the methods of translation and how the cultural context is being translated in a bilingual Indonesian-English short story book of “Suwidak Loro” by Murti Bunanta. The researcher used qualitative method to describe the methods of translation and the cultural context that the researcher found in Suwidak Loro story. The instrument that the researcher used was all of the sentences in the story book. To collect the data, the researcher used data collection techniques such as literature study and content analysis. Also the researcher analyzed the data using Peter Newmark’s translation method and translation procedure theories. The result showed that the translation method is mostly using word for word translation. The word for word translation method is dominantly used because it is a children's bilingual story book and does not consist of lots of difficult vocabulary. Also the translation procedures found in this bilingual story were descriptive equivalent, functional equivalent, shift, and synonymy
