This thesis analyze the taboo word where taboo or we know as tabu is a Tongan term that denotes a person, object or act which is dangerous and therefore it must be avoided. The objective of this research are to identify the Types and Motives of English taboo words which are contained in movie Coach Carter base on jay as the main theory. The design of this research is qualitative research with content analysis, to get the data the researcher were collected by selecting dialogues containing taboo words after watching the video and matching the transcript with the video carefully. The primary instrument of this research was the researcher, while the secondary instrument was a data sheet. for the data analysis technique Process of inductive content analysis includes open coding, creating categorize and abstraction. the result of this research are stated as follows for all data there are 93 data of taboo word which are categorized into four categories of Types and Motives of taboo word They are Profanity, Obscenity, Vulgarity and Epithets. The most Types of taboo words is Profanity. Meanwhile, for the Motives there are four Categories they are Anger and Frustration, Descriptive- Evaluative, Joking and Surprise the majority motive of using taboo words is Anger and Frustration. This research shows the teacher strategy to discipline the student’s attitude where the coach does not only teach them to be a winner in the game but also to win the life. In conclusion, taboo word not only can be detected as bad langues only
but also it show the closeness of relation or friendship among people, it can be considered as
taboo words if it use out side of the circle of the friendship.
