Fikri, M. Al Hafidh, 2023. The Strategies Utilized by Mulawarman Debating Society; A Case Study Research. Under the guidance of Advisor(I) Dr. Iwan Setiawan, M.Pd and Advisor (II) Dr. Bibit Suhatmady, M.Pd This study focused on the strategies utilized by the Debaters of University of Mulawarman Debating Society. The researcher used a qualitative method. The subjects of this study were taken from the highly prominent and distinguished debaters of Mulawarman Debating Society (MDS) that have achieved at least provincial trophy in debating competition. The researcher employed himself to collect the data by interviewing the debaters, watching their debate video and analysing the strategies using case study method. The results of the research revealed that there were five main strategies that were utilized and two challenges faced by the MDS Debaters. There were Motion Strategy, Case-Building Strategy, Argumentation Strategy, Interruption or PoI Strategy, and how to develop reasoning. The challenges were the failure of strategy and teamwork challenge.
