The aims of this study are (1) to expose the level of speaking anxiety experienced by the students in academic presentation course at English Department in Mulawarman University (2) to expose the primary factors that influence the speaking anxiety among students of academic presentation course at English Department. The design of this study is descriptive quantitative research. The sample in this study are 77 students in academic presentation course of english department. The data collection technique is using questionnaire and distributed by google form. The results of this study are (1) 68% of students have a medium level of speaking anxiety. folowing this, 29% students encountered a high level of speaking anxiety, and only 3% of students experienced a low level of anxiety (2) The finding shows that from the three components of anxiety factors, fear of negative evaluation ranked in the highest level of the causes of anxiety. It is calculated that the average percentage of Fear of Negative Evaluation is 36% of students who agree with the items on this factor.
