The fifth Semester Students' Experiences in The Making of Video Project Assignment
This study aims to find the experiences experienced by fifth semester students of class 2019 B during the process of working on video projects using Project Based Learning. This study used a single case study with qualitative approach. The participants in this study were seven students that meet the criteria. The data of this research were collected through interviews and analyzed by using Thematic Analysis adopted from Braun & Clarke (2006). The researcher found that students’ experiences were organized based on three major themes, namely experiences in problems in pandemic situations, skill competence improvement, and psychological aspects. Experiences problems in pandemic situations are difficulty to group work in distance, hard to find footage, do not understand what lecture wants, and lot of assignments. In skill competence improvement, it was found that students became fast thinkers, gained new knowledge, collaboration, improved skills, and gained new experiences. In psychological aspect, students feel excited, motivated, and frustrated. Students experienced several challenges that discovered based on external and internal challenges. In external challenge, there are lack of teamwork abilities, challenge in devices, and lack of project management abilities. In internal challenge, there are, prior experiences, interpersonal challenge, and lack of self learning abilities.
