Online learning is a current condition that changes the teaching and learning process in various educational institutions in Indonesia. The way to measure the success of the online learning system, one of the most factors to investigate is satisfaction. Satisfaction refers to feelings or expectations, ranging from very satisfied to very dissatisfied. This study has conducted to find out students' satisfaction with online learning, especially to know males and females distinction on their satisfaction level through three presences of the Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework model as the factor of satisfaction: Teaching Presence (TP), Social Presence (SP), and Cognitive Presence (CP). The current study utilized a survey design under quantitative research. The researcher used a Google-form-based questionnaire to collect data from a sample representative of 60% population of the fifth semester (batch 2019) English Department Students of Mulawarman University. The result revealed slightly differ in mean score in terms of teaching, social, and cognitive presence between males and females, in which males surpassed females' mean score in teaching presence (TP) and social presence (SP), meanwhile females acquired higher Cognitive Presence (CP) than males, but it was all in the same level of satisfaction that classified as a satisfied category. It indicates that the distinction between all three presence did not found in satisfaction among male and female students, and online learning satisfaction can not be distinct depending on gender. Herein, there is a necessity for further research to find out whether the difference is significant or insignificant. The researcher also suggests larger sample size will be better for further research to get bigger sample size and more reliable data.
