Film is one of the modern media platforms that reflects the existence of the human race and its conflict. There are many conflicts that exist in society. Class struggle is one of the examples of human conflict. Class struggle is known as the event that occurs between two different classes, upper and lower classes. The struggle mostly gives many disadvantages to the lower class and causes them a miserable life. As a result, the researcher brought this thesis, which explored the class struggle of Derek Cho’s character in Mayhem (2017) film. The purpose of this thesis is to examine the class struggle and identify the types of class struggle that happened to Derek Cho. The thesis used Marxist theory by Karl Marx as the main theory supported by Harnecker’s types of class struggle theory to identify the data. The researcher used the qualitative-descriptive method as the approach to analyze the film. The result showed that Derek Cho has experienced three types of class struggle; economic class struggle, ideological class struggle, and political class struggle in the film.
