Dr. Yuni Utami Asih, M. Pd., This study focused on the directive illocutionary act and perlocutionary act used in Boy William’s Video Blog. The researcher used a qualitative method. Thesubjects of this study were taken from two videos uploaded in Boy William’sYoutube or Video Blog Platform. The researcher employed herself to collect the data by watching the video, reading the script, and analyzing the directive illocutionary act and the perlocutionary act in the script using Searle and Vanderveken’s theory, and Gu’s theory. The results of this study revealed that there are four types of directive illocutionary act. There are questioning, commanding, requesting, and suggesting. Then, there are two types of perlocutionary act used in Boy William’s Video Blog. There are verbal responseand physical response.
