The purpose of this study was to explore pre-service teachers’ experiences in developing digital competences in Digital Literacies course. The study used DigComp framework developed by Ferrari (2013) & updated version by Vuorikari et al. (2016). The design of the study was qualitative case study in which the data sources used are focus group interviews and observations with the participants are pre-service teachers of the English Education Department, the class of 2020 in Mulawarman University. The sample of the study was 29 pre-service teachers taken from class A and class C, class of 2020. The findings of the study showed that pre-service teachers have acquired knowledge and skills in digital competence areas such as information and data literacy, communication and collaboration, digital content creation, safety, and problem-solving. However, the study found that pre-service teachers have not shown any progress in terms of ‘’Copyright and licenses’’, ‘’Programming’’ sub-competences in ‘’Digital content creation’’ competence area. Thus, the study suggested future studies to give further instruction for each of the elements in each of the competence area and to conduct the study based on DigCompEdu framework, which is digital competence framework for educators.
