This research aimed to identify language style that James Carter used and found the factors that influenced language style that James Carter used in Rush Hour film. The data were analyzed by using Joos (1976) theory to identify the types of language styles in that film. This research used a descriptive qualitative research design to analyze and discuss the sentence or dialogue which performs the language style based on the film. The findings revealed there were four types of language styles namely formal style, casual style, consultative style, and intimate style in this film script. The factors that influenced the language styles of James Carter were the participants, the setting/social contexts, the topic, and the functions of the language.
