The Effect of EFL Learner's Perception of Teacher's Power and Teacher's Language toward Student's English Achievement on Secondary School
This study focused on the effect of students’ perception towards teacher’s power and teacher’s language on student’s achievement of secondary school by using causal comparative method. This study aims to find out the result of students’ perception of teachers’ power on students’ achievement, to find out the result of students’ perception towards teacher’s language on students’ achievement and to find out the effects between student’s perception towards teacher’s power and teacher’s language o students’ achievement. The participant of this study were 45 students of SMP Islamic Center Samarinda to become participants and gave TPUS Questionnaire, Teacher’s Language Questionnaire and English Test to measure their effects. This study showed that the first result, the level of significance and the t-table value was 2.02. Because the value= (10.57 >2.02). It showed that there is a significant effect of students’ perception of teachers’ power in students’ achievement. The second result showed the level significance of the t-table value was 2.02 Because the value= (5.81 >2.02). It showed that there is a significant effect of students’ perception of Teacher’s language in students’ achievement. The last result showed that that the score of sig 0.016 < from 0.05, it can be conclude that student’s perception of teacher’s power and teacher’s language has significant effect to students’ achievement of secondary school.
