This research conducts to identify the speech acts in term illocutionary acts presented by Victoria in The Young Victoria Film. The researcher focuses on the types of illocutionary acts used by Victoria. The aim of this research is to describe the types of speech act performed by Victoria in her conversations and narration. The data sources of the research are taken from the movie script. After collecting the data, the data are selected, reduced and analyzed using Searle’s theory of speech act in Expression and Meaning: Studies in the Theory of Speech Acts book. The researcher uses qualitative method in conducting this research. The researcher identifying Victoria’s utterance by applying the theory of speech acts. The theory of speech acts applies to find out the types of illocutionary acts. The result of this research shows that there are four types of speech act in the film. The researcher found that the types of illocutionary acts used by Victoria are assertive, commissive, expressive, and directive speech acts. The functions of speech act are utterances of asserting, refusing, being constraining, and ordering. This research allows a more detailed portrayal of speech act such as reveal the function of utterance in conversation.
