WORKING CLASS EXPLOITATION IN SORRY WE MISSED YOU (2019) FILM : A MARXISM CRITICISM
This study examines the Sorry We Missed You film directed by Ken Loach as the research object. The purpose of this study is to find out how the representation of labor exploitation. To achieve the research objectives, this study uses Marx's Exploitation theory, the character rization theory by Petrie and Boggs, and Labor Exploitation Indicators from the International Labor Organization (ILO). This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods and Marxist criticism to analyze the social problems of labor exploitation reflected in the film. The data in this study are in the form of dialogues and actions that show the representation of labor exploitation in the film. This research also only analyzes the two main characters, namely Ricky Tuner and Abbie Tuner. The results of this study indicate that seven indicators of labor exploitation occur in the film. The indicators of exploitation that occur in the film are excessive working days or hours, bad living conditions, bad working conditions, low and no salary, hazardous work, no social protection, and wage manipulation. Surplus labor exploitation was also represented in Sorry We Missed You film The indicators of exploitation depicted in this film use characterization through appearance, dialogue, external action, and internal action characterization
