Social Processes in Character Development of Mowgli as the Main Character in The Jungle Book Movie
This research analyzes how a social process in The Jungle Book movie is intertwined between human and a group of animals, such as the main character in this movie, Mowgli who lived in the jungle together with other wild animals. This research aims to find out how the social processes that occured in Mowgli's environment are different with children in general, so that it can affect in the development of his character in this movie. This research is included in qualitative research because the researcher examined aspects of social processes which can be illustrated in this film by using social process theory from Panos D Bardis and character development theory from Elizabeth B Hurlock to explain the factors that influence Mowgli's character development through dialogue from the script of the film. The source of data in this study was the film The Jungle Book. From the results of the study, it was found that there are 4 factors that influence the development of the main character's character, namely intellectual, emotional, social and family. From these factors, Mowgli's character is formed as a boy who is strong, tough, smart and brave.
